The Head of Sales have the primary role of leading the sales department, overseeing activities of the junior and senior professionals and monitoring performance as a whole. The Head of Sales defines and communicates the business’s OKRs/KPIs and targets to sales personnel on a regular basis, analyses patterns in consumer and market behavior, and subsequently defines data-driven action strategies in order to consistently optimize the business’s commercial performance.

The role of Head of Sales is a data-driven role that requires commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the consumer base, the competitive market, and an ability to analyze sales department performance. The Head of Sales role is an integral part of the business in that it also involves the management of external partners and collaboration with numerous internal departments.

What we need from you…

The Head of Sales will be the first contact point between the business and the Sales function to jointly develop Sales Management processes based on the business objectives of the group/sector/ location. Your remit will cover all aspects of Sales activity and in addition, you will have an important role in assisting the business to implement Sales projects and corporate initiatives. You will be responsible for the quality of the Sales Function and will be responsible for executing on all sales activities, internally and externally. As Ozow seeks to expand and possibly employ in other cities, countries and/or regions you will have a responsibility to benchmark against City, Country, and Region as well as industry best practice.


Job responsibilities and Duties

  • Leadership/Supervisory Role: Lead the sales team by mentoring and coaching sales team. Motivate, energize and Inspire the team to get the best results from the sales team in the attainment of goals and objectives. Train and develop the sales team on both soft and product knowledge.
  • Strategy: Craft sales strategy plan to identify market opportunities, resource planning, pipeline management, competitive analysis, SWOT analysis in line with the business overall strategy. Implementation and review of the sales plan quarterly to ensure plan drives results to meet targets and improve sales productivity and efficiency.
  • Performance Management: Craft and implement performance management system that is results-driven. Set and implement KPI’s /Metrics/targets and measurements tools of these KPI’s targets. Actively implement a system to manage performance on a daily, weekly, monthly basis but in a way that motivates and inspires the team to be results-driven. Ensure clear communication of job description, KPI’s and measures to the sales team. Performance management process of non-performers and incentivize performers. Enforce the use of company systems to measure and manage performance.
  • Processes – assess and manage sales processes in line with sales and account plans. Implement or utilize relevant tools for pipeline management, sales order processing, and sales administration.
  • Resource Management – identify resource and capacity requirements within the sales team. Recruitment and selection of candidates. Align sales job descriptions and KPI’s to optimize resource management and get most of the sales team. Identify incentive schemes / commission schemes to drive results and meet objectives. Have back up plan for shortage of resources.
  • Reporting – prepare sales KPI reports and analysis data to manage sales performance, key focus areas and support overall sales strategy.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Post Graduate Degree in Sales & Marketing / Business Administration
  • Experience: + 10 years of working experience in a sales position within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment, preferably working in the position of a Senior Sales Manager.
  • Communication Skills
  • Computer Literate, MS Office
  • Analytical Skills & Critical thinking and comfortable with complexity/ambiguity
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills at all levels

  • Exceptional Leadership/People Skills to lead and build team capabilities

  • Able to maintain and develop a high level of company and competitor product and services knowledge
