More about this Ozow fantastic position

As the Head of Research and Development and Innovation Lab you will provide strategic direction for the development of our innovative, global product portfolio. In this role you will be fixated with developing new products that ensure Ozow continues to be in the forefront of the payments industry, while retaining our competitive advantages and increasing the company’s profitability.

 

You will pinpoint relevant high-risk/high-return technologies and products, make them accessible, and be able to assimilate them into existing or new products and solutions.  You will play a crucial role in the strategy development process, in the technological and strategic due diligence for Merger and Acquisition activities, brand communications, and in maintaining external networks in research and development.

 

In this role you will maintain an agile, start-up-like culture of innovation in the research and development function and processes, which will ensure the organisation is able to maintain a strong, industry leading product portfolio.

 

 

You are an ideal candidate if:

  1. You have a relevant Master’s or PhD degree.
  2. You have 5 + years of experience as a Head of Research and Development in the software or fintech (advantageous) industry with a history of exceeding key performance metrics.
  3. You have 3+ years of experience in hiring and developing research and development teams in an agile environment.
  4. You have excellent knowledge of trends in technology.
  5. You have a solid understanding of the .NET framework and the general Microsoft stack, but also proficient with Linux, popular non-relational databases, and at least knowledgeable in languages such as Go, Ruby, Python, or Scala.
  6. You are proficient in cloud, containerisation, and best of breed technologies used in web-scale applications.
  7. You have experience & certification in Lean Six Sigma (beneficial).
